Description

This annual event during Sexual Assault Awareness month has become a Gustavus tradition that supports the International Men's March to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a fun opportunity for both women and men to educate the college about a very serious subject and to rally the community to take action to prevent sexualized violence. There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes. eWalk a Mile in Her Shoes? asks men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. Women can strap on their heels too. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it's fun and it gets students, staff, faculty, and guests alike to talk about something that's really difficult to talk about: gender relations and sexual violence.

Please pre-Register in the Peer Assistants Office any time up until the event. The event starts at 5:30pm in the John's Family Courtyard, or right inside the adjacent Campus Center doors, with the actual walking beginning at 6:00pm. Taco-in-a-bag dinner will be available at the end of the walk.
