Description

How did the individual books of the Christian Bible come together into a collection? This basic question has inspired vast debate in scholarly, theological, and popular contexts in recent decades. Lee McDonald, one of the world's leading authorities on this question, provides a lecture in which he explains the modern "Canon Debate," illustrating what scholars disagree about on this important question -- and why. Prof. McDonald is President Emeritus of Acadia Divinity School, past President of the Institute for Biblical Research, and a Baptist pastor. He is the author of over a dozen books on these and other topics.
