Description

Presenter: Dr. Betsy Byers, Art and Art History Department

Date/Time: February 21, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.

Let us view the real impacts of climate change from an artist's perspective.

This seminar talk will reveal the creative process from research to painting development of Associate Professor Betsy Ruth Byers' current exhibition, Remnants, on view at Rosalux Gallery from February 3-25, 2018. The exhibition was inspired by the impact of climate change on the glaciers at Glacier National Park.

This activity was made possible by an Artist Grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council with fund provided by the Mcknight Foundation, as well as the Ryerse Funds through Gustavus Adolphus College.

(The award allows Dr. Byers to further raise awareness on issues of climate change through her artwork, helping to mend the disconnect she says sometimes occurs between her practice and societal concerns.)
