Presenter: Bruce Gray, '61, former dean of students and retired associate in the Advancement Office. Bruce and his wife Sue recently received the Greater Gustavus Award, which goes to those "who by deed, have notably advanced and aided Gustavus Adolphus College. e/p>

Title: Integration at Gustavus

The featured speaker is Bruce Gray '61, former dean of students and associate in the Office of Advancement and author of Black and Hold: A History of African-American Students at Gustavus Adolphus College. At the lunch, Bruce will share about his time at Gustavus, and his time post-Gustavus writing and researching his new book. The book salutes the African-American students while it tells of their trials, tribulations and triumphs as they pursued their degrees. Through Gray, we hear their voices and discover what the students accomplished once the left The Hill. Many of them chose this opportunity to declare, "Bruce and Sue Gray were the best friends and mentors that we could have had. e/p>
