Please join your friends and colleagues from across the campus for any or all of the following reading/discussion groups during January. Books and refreshments will be provided; please let Amy in the CVR know of your interest (email apehrson@gustavus.edu, or phone 933-7169) by Friday., Dec. 29. 1) Jayber Crow, a novel of community, calling, and the power of place by renowned author, poet, essayist, activist, and sustainable farmer Wendell Berry, Wednesdays at 3:30 - 5:00 p.m, beginning Jan. 3. 2) Repacking Your Bags: Lighten Your Load for the Rest of Your Life, by Gustavus alum Richard Leider, founder and head of the Inventure Group, a coaching and consulting firm in the Twin Cities and best-selling author of several books on purpose, vocation, and meaningful work; and David Shapiro, education director of the Northwest Center for Philosophy for Children. This group will meet Thursday afternoons at 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., beginning Jan. 4 3) NY Times best-seller What Should I Do with My Life? by Po Bronson, Mondays at 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 8. This group will also be open to students, and will be co-facilitated by senior student and CVR intern Tessa Carlsen.
