Description

An Invitation to all Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Coaches

Men often ask about sexual assault, "How is it about men? eand "What can men do to prevent sexual assault and violence against women? eThis training will build men's capacity to challenge harmful aspects of traditional masculinity, to value alternative visions of male strength, and to embrace their vital role as allies with women in fostering healthy relationships and gender equity. Coaches, staff, administrators, and faculty have a huge influence on students as mentors, so reaching them with this training is crucial to development of men on our campus. This training will also address ways that women can support the men in their lives so that we can all work towards social change.

In contrast to traditional efforts that address men as "the problem," Men Can Stop Rape embraces men as vital allies with the will and character to make healthy choices and foster safe, equitable relationships.

Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) is an international organization that mobilizes men to use their strength for creating cultures free from violence, especially men's violence against women. Since its inception in 1997, MCSR has led the call to redefine masculinity and male strength as part of preventing men's violence against women.
