Discussion: Lutheran-Roman Catholic Relationships around the World
Curious about Lutheran-Roman Catholic relationships around the world today? Join us for a discussion of a 2013 International Lutheran-Roman Catholic Statement with Brazilian theologian, Wanda Deifelt! November 14, 4-5:30 p.m., Phi Beta Kappa Room. In anticipation of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, a Commission of Lutheran and Catholic theologians from many countries has written a new statement on Lutheran-Roman Catholic relationships entitled "From Conflict to Communion.”
Members of the faculty are invited to discuss the document with Professor Deifelt, a Lutheran theologian from Brazil who served on the Commission, currently teaches at Luther College, and continues to participate in ecumenical initiatives. The document can be downloaded for free. In honor of the joint statement, a selection of Italian wines, German beers, non-alcoholic drinks, and appetizers will be available. All are welcome, regardless of religious or non-religious convictions! Sponsored by the Kendall Center and the Bernhardson Chair.
