Living Stateless (40 minutes) tells the stories of two families with neither home nor nation to call their own. As the surviving generations of refugees fleeing civil war in the Philippines, these "stateless epeople were born in Malaysia but are considered "illegal eand "foreign eby the government. They live in constant fear of harassment, exploitation, detention and deportation. Denied education and resources, they are trapped in a cycle of poverty and oppression. This film explores statelessness and its effects on the generations of people living unrecognized by any land.

Living Stateless is a film by Matt Fillmore (˜08). Matt earned his MFA from the Ohio University School of Film in 2014 and currently works as an independent filmmaker and television producer based in Denver, CO.
