Description
The Linnaeus Arboretum will host a Chinese Elm Removal Party. Chinese elm is an alien species that is not native to Minnesota, but which readily seeds in many places where it is not wanted, namely the Linnaeus Arboretum. The task is simple: cutting and treating the stems of pre-marked trees. No need to know how to identify them- we will show you what to do, a Great opportunity to get some exercise and do a good deed! Please "register" by e-mailing Emily Hoefs or Shirley Mellema so that we can anticipate equipment needs. However, we will welcome any volunteers the day of as well. In the event of rain, we will move the party to Sunday, Oct. 7 from 2-5pm.
