Announcement: Leadership Training in Nonviolence

A workshop offering tools to address conflict, injustice, and violence in our lives and world will take place on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25th. This interactive workshop led by Lutheran Peace Fellowship director Glen Gersmehl is open to campus and community and is part of a three part series on Lutheran peacebuilding sponsored by Peace Studies, LALACS, and the sesquicentennial fund. Gersmehl had led workshops in 40 states for audiences ranging from activist and college groups to the UN and a White House conference. Glen also has extensive experience in policy development and advocacy and has, for example, written testimony or consulted with twenty government agencies and legislative bodies. Most recently he has offered leadership and conflict training for volunteers working on hunger and homelessness issues in the Pacific Northwest.

Schedule:

Friday, February 24th 6:30pm-8:30pm Board Room, Jackson Campus Center. Dessert/snacks provided.

Saturday, February 25th10:00am - 3:00pm Interpretive Center. Snacks and lunch provided.

Friday's session is open, but we ask that you register for Saturday's workshop by contacting Mimi Gerstbauer (mgerstba@gac.edu or 933-7421) by February 20th. Both sessions are open to campus and community, with a suggested donation of $10 for Saturday for off-campus attendees.
