The 2017 Faith Conference theme: "Faith, Science, and the Freedom to Serve e/em> will explore the creative alliances being built between religion and science in order to address the world's most pressing challenges. The day begins with a joyous worship service in Christ Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Worship will feature Gustavus musicians and special guest, Sarah Herzer '99, Kantor at the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Rev. Dan Poffenberger, senior pastor at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran in Prior Lake, Minnesota, will deliver the homily. Immediately following worship we will hear from our featured speakers. Dr. Philip Clayton, professor of theology at the Claremont School of Theology, will present: Emergent Universe, Emergent Faith. The Rev. Siri Erickson, college chaplain at Gustavus Adolphus College, will present: Faith, Science, and Emerging Adults: The Reformation Continues.The Faith Conference is FREE and open to all, but pre-registration is required.
