Description

The Diversity Education Exploration Project (DEEP) and its students are planning a silent auction fundraiser for this year's trip to Little Havana, Florida. DEEP is a student organization from Gustavus Adolphus College that plans an alternative spring break experience centered around a location of cultural interest. Our three pillars include culture, education, and service. Through these three pillars, we work throughout the year to organize a trip that includes a service project to give back to the community in which we visit, a tour at a graduate school to allow us to think about furthering our education, and engagement of cultural events in the area. Our organization prides itself on providing a low-cost trip to students that may not otherwise have the means to travel outside of our region or may not have the opportunity to study abroad. This year we have chosen to explore the Cuban diaspora within Little Havana. We will be beginning our fundraising at our silent auction fundraiser from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on November 28, 2017 Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN. This event is open to Gustavus Faculty, staff and the greater St. Peter community.
