Description
The lecture is titled "Youth in Cuba Today." Featured youth leader speakers are: Yanelis Martínez Herrera, a member of the National Secretariat of the Federation of University Students (FEU), president of the FEU at the University of Camaguey and University of Camaguey Law School, fifth year law student at the University of Havana, and delegate to the 12th Congress of Latin American and Caribbean Students; and Javier Duenas Oquendo, delegate to the 9th Congress of Jurists of Cuba, honors graduate with degree in journalism from the University of Havana, teaches journalism at the University of Havana, held various responsibilities in the FEU, including vice-president of the FEU at his school, was a member of the baseball, volleyball and other athletic teams at his school, traveled to Russia and Mexico, giving talks on youth in Cuba, and is a member of the National Bureau of Union of Young Communists. This event is sponsored by LALACS, women studies, sociology and anthropology, modern foreign languages, peace studies, diversity, communication studies and Crossroads.
