We don't have a clear picture of the scope of this problem yet. I'll try and keep this up to date.
But
Machines in Admission and other places around campus appear to be re-infected with bling.
Syptoms: Machine gets an error message about randomly shutting down. If user tries to shut down they get a message that they don't have privileges to shutdown. No printing available. No network shares Machines show bling in a scan with Norton - but real time protection didn't find it.
Bruce and Mike are working on finding and disinfecting machines -so far the list:
Admission machines, Tiffany Verrett, Joyce Wellingham Prahm, Tim Johnson's Student machine
Dan has shut off Microsoft Windows Networking to stop the spread.
If you talk to anyone else with this problem, please bring it to Tami, Nick's or Kathy's attention.
