Description

Two years after its first edition, theGustavus Hispanic Film Festivalis back! All six screenings are free and open to the public, and will take place atWallenberg Auditorium on Mondays at 7pm. See attached flyer for dates and more information, and tell everyone you see, both on and off campus!

For our third week, we have a very special session. We are screening Aqu?? y all??/Here and There (Antonio M??ndez Esparza, 2012), set in Guerrero, Mexico, the state in which Petatl??n (Saint Peter's sister city) is located. We will also be honored with the presence of director Antonio M??ndez Esparza via videocall.

In Aqu?? y all??, Pedro returns to his hometown in the state of Guerrero (Mexico) after years of working in the US. His family is happy, but things have changed since he left. He tries to organize a folk band with a few friends, at the same time he keeps providing for his family. However, managing a life torn between here and there proves to be quite a task. More info on IMDb; more info at the Spanish Film Club website.

The screening will be introduced by Professor Angelique Dwyer (MLLC/Spanish). After the film, all guests are invited to stay for a discussion with Professor Joaqu??n Villanueva (Geography) and Jeffrey Rathlef (Center for Servant-Leadership). There'll be popcorn as well!
