Year at Gustavus: Sophomore
What events are you in? Are you in both cross country and track and field?: I run hurdles and sprints.
Where did you go to high school?: Owatonna High School
Where is your hometown?: Owatonna, MN
What volunteering or community service have you done in and/or out of college?: My family and I have donated food and money towards our church, which gives back to the community and we go and give it to people in need.
What other extracurricular activities, clubs, or organizations are you a part of?: I am in GATA.
How have these activities changed your time at Gustavus?: They have made me branch out by meeting new people and doing things a little out of my comfort zone but in a good way.
Tell me about any high school athletic and academic achievements or awards that you have earned: I lettered academically 3 times, was in all conference for track and soccer academically, I was in rotary, I also made top 10% of my graduating class (meaning I graduated with honors), I also lettered in soccer and track.
Why did you choose Gustavus?: I wanted to go to school for athletic training and the program here just fit well with how I learn, along with the students and staff, everyone is very welcoming and nice. There is always a friendly face around. I also liked how small the school is and how close to home it is. I did not want to go too far away from home, so it's the perfect distance.
In your opinion what makes the Gustavus cross country/track and field programs different from other colleges?: I feel like the track and field team here is very close. We do many different things together as a team such as dress up days and activities like yoga. We try to keep our team together in practices (difficult with covid) and working out. We also get to know one another by mixing up groups so you get to know different people too
