The goal of the Gustavus Adolphus College Student Athlete Advisory Committee, or SAAC, is to enhance the overall student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and supporting and fostering a positive student-athlete image. But women's hockey player Kylie Scott's work with the committee has reached far more than her local Gustavus community. Scott, who serves on the SAAC leadership team as a sophomore, helped sponsor an event for Gift of Life Marrow Registry, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating blood stem cell and bone marrow matches for potential transplants. Her donor drive, hosted in October of 2024, identified a lifesaving match for a 33-year-old man battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma. "I loved the concept of the event," said Scott, a biology pre-med major. "It was an easy 10 minutes to swab and fill out some paperwork, but I knew it could make a huge impact on somebody else's life." No. 14/16 Gustavus baseball suffered its first conference loss Wednesday, 5-4 at Bethel, while game two was suspended after eight innings due to darkness with the Royals leading 7-4. The Gustavus Adolphus Softball team worked its way back into the win column in their second of four doubleheaders on the week, and second in as many days at the Gustie Softball Field, earning the MIAC sweep of Hamline on Wednesday, April 9. Gustavus (14-10, 4-2 MIAC) got its fourth home run of the season, a walk-off shot from Carly Olson (So., Luverne, Minn.), while Maizie Anderson (Jr., Rosemount, Minn.) pitched a pair of wins in the circle. Hamline (11-13, 1-5 MIAC) stranded six on base in each game, and hit .267 (4-for-15) with runners in scoring position.
