Tina Pulido Draper ’87 Inducted 2006
Tina Pulido Draper '87 is one of the most decorated gymnasts in the history of the Gustavus gymnastics program, having earned All-America honors eight different times in her four-year career from 1983 to 1987. In addition, she is one of only three gymnasts at Gustavus to have earned All-America honors in each of her four seasons of competition. A Fergus Fall, Minn., native, Pulido Draper finished fifth on the vault as a freshman to help the Gusties win the first-ever National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Division III team title in 1984. The next year she finished fourth on the vault at the national meet as Gustavus won its second consecutive national title. In her junior year, she placed third in the all-around and fifth on the vault at the NCGA Championships as the Gusties finished third as a team, and then as a senior she placed second in the all-around, third on the beam, third on the floor exercise, and sixth on the uneven bars to help Gustavus claim its third national team title in four years with a record score of 135.90.
After graduating in 1987 with majors in psychology and sociology, Pulido Draper attended the University of Minnesota at Waseca and received a two-year degree in veterinary technology. She worked as a veterinary technologist until 1996, when she left to accept a position in the medical department with Farmers Insurance. Pulido Draper is currently a litigation/arbitration claims specialist with Farmers Insurance. She lives in Burnsville, Minn., with her husband, Kris, and their children, Allie (7) and Mayte (4).
