Typical meetings between students and accessibility resources staff in the ASC may include:

  • Following up on the effectiveness of academic accommodations
  • Academic coaching
    • Strategies for studying, taking tests, meeting college-level expectations
  • Time management
    • Using a calendar system to structure time
    • Methods of organization, including weekly, monthly, and semester-long planning
  • Communicating with professors
    • Coaching and modeling conversations with professors regarding accommodations and individual learning needs
  • Self-awareness
    • Helping students realize personal learning strengths and challenges
    • Determining if additional diagnostic testing or assessment is needed
  • Identifying and accessing other campus and community resources to aid in success, such as:
    • Career Development, Counseling Center, departmental tutors, faculty office hours, Health Service, and Writing Center
