Class of 2011
Class of 2011,
We hope this letter finds you well. It’s been nearly a full year since we graduated, and for many of us, the days of spending our afternoons attending lab, lecture, or practice are gone. Our mornings aren’t spent waking up late, getting coffee from the Courtyard Café, or spending the day in the library tackling “big projects.” While we may not miss the homework, the looming cloud that was our final month’s to-do list, or the anxiety of planning for life post-Gustavus, many of us carry with us the lessons we learned in those experiences.
Our lives have changed much in the past year. It’s easy to feel distant from the college as we spend each day in the office or new buildings on a new campus. Although our daily routines have changed, there are many pieces of Gustavus that remain with us. These pieces, the friendships, the advice from professors, peers, and advisors alike, and the knowledge gained, we remember when work is tough, or in the moments we find meaning in our current endeavors.
As each day carries us further from graduation, we hope you will remember these friendships, conversations, and moments, sharing them with those in your current life.

Thanks to all of you who have donated to Gustavus this year. We hope you will continue to support the Gustavus Annual Fund and Campaign Gustavus if you are financially able. Campaign Gustavus hopes to raise $150 Million by the end of 2015. The campaign focuses on three areas: Opportunity, Teaching and Learning, and Community. Make a donation to Campaign Gustavus by visiting https://gustavus.edu/give/.
Give Your Time
This month, you can give back to Gustavus by taking the time to write a card or letter to a graduating senior. Think about a graduating friend or classmate and how they might be feeling in this time of transition. We didn’t get where we are without the support and help of others−now, it is time to share what we’ve learned in the past year with someone else.
Share Your News
Remember to share your news with the college. We would love to hear about new jobs, engagements, weddings, births, travel, volunteer work, continuing education, or anything else you would like to share! Individual news is published in the Gustavus Quarterly. Submit your news by visiting https://gustavus.edu/alumni/submit/.
