Class of 2007
May 2007

Dear 2007 Classmates,

Like it or not, the class of 2007 is about to leave this blustery hill.  Many of us will move up to the Twin Cities, while some of us will live far, far away.  Some will get amazing jobs and others will begin their first applications.  A few are engaged to the loves of their lives, yet many are far from that.  The one thing that we all have in common is our shared experience these past four years, and on May 27th, when we walk out of here, degree in hand.  As class agents, we will plan our gatherings, write letters about classmates, and keep you up-to-date on Gustavus happenings long after we have departed our beloved town of St. Peter.  Now for a little about who we are!

This is Erica Brown.  I am a communication studies and political science major.  During my years at Gustavus I was most involved with the Gustavus Ambassadors, dance line, student senate, senior class gift committee, serving countless banquets for Dining Services, and coaching the St. Peter High School dance line.  After graduation I will be working downtown Minneapolis at Target Corp.  I will miss seeing so many familiar faces on campus, having friends so close, and the great Gustavus community.

Hi class of 2007.  My name is Barry Cattadoris, and I will be one of your class agents.  I am graduating with an economics major, and am going to go to law school next year in St. Paul.  Gustavus has made a huge impact on my life, and I know it has for many of my peers in our class.  I hope to stay in touch with the College and I hope you all do to.  We all may be heading in different directions, but as President Peterson has said, Gusties stick together, and I hope you all keep in contact with all the great people you have met here.

Hi friends and classmates! I'm Travis Michelson and glad to be one of the Class Agents for our amazing class. I'm going to tell you a little about myself in hopes that in future class letters we can learn about the rest of you. I am a music education major, and unlike most of you, I will still be on campus next fall. I will be student teaching in the Cities somewhere. As of now, my plans for the future include teaching and then at some point going back to school to earn a doctorate degree in choral conducting. I'm also supposed to tell you a bit about my experience at Gustavus. It's no surprise that I have hundreds of great things to say about the last four years. If you know me at all, you probably know how optimistic and friendly I tend to be. I have a positive outlook on life and Gustavus has certainly helped develop this characteristic in me. We have so much to be proud of, as a class, and we do owe a big 'thank you' to Gustavus for all it has provided for us. It has certainly been a ride that none of us will forget. To conclude on a happy note, there is so much out there for all of us and it is my pleasure to be involved in keeping us all in the loop. My wish for all of us is that we do in fact stay very close and I know that won't be a problem since we have all built a strong bond. So, keep bleeding black and gold as you go out into the world in a couple weeks and keep spreading that Gustavus spirit that is so contagious and filled with pride! Gusties will shine tonight and tomorrow and the next day, etc.

Hi, I'm Ben Richter, a fellow member of the class of 2007.  I found myself highly involved in music and Christian organizations; fitting, since I work as a church musician.  I was a part of several musical groups as a music major, most notably the Gustavus Choir, and also was in Gustavus Youth Outreach, Proclaim, and worked a lot with the chapel, where I often liked to just chill and play piano at night.  I'm really excited to be serving you all as a class agent, and look forward to keeping in touch with you.

Adam Tehle here.  At Gustavus I was involved in the Gustavus Choir, Men’s Christian Fellowship, GusLink, worked in the Office of Institutional Advancement, and went on several Habitat for Humanity work trips.  After graduation I will be working as an intern at Sage Presence.  I am going to miss my friends in this Gustavus community atmosphere, along with great conversations with extremely successful individuals.  As we are going through this life transition, I hope people can appreciate Gustavus, all the opportunities for growth we had here.

Cap and Gown Pick-up - You should pick-up your cap and gown from the Book Mark any time during normal business hours until Friday.  You may have a friend pick-up your cap and gown.  Tell them your height and they will get the appropriate size.

Senior Alumni Survey - For those seniors who did not complete a survey of involvements at the Grad Finale, one is enclosed.  The Alumni Office uses this information to keep you informed of news and gatherings related to organizations you were involved in.  So it is important to get this survey completed and returned!
