Class of 2004

October 2013

10-Year Reunion― October 3-5, 2013

Dear Class of 2004,

The last class letter I wrote, we were still struggling through sub temperatures and couldn’t wait until summer arrived (spring never seemed to come).  Now we are looking forward to the cool down and great fall nights.

I hope you all enjoyed your summer and were able to spend some quality time with members of your Gustavus family.  This month, I was given the opportunity to spend the day on campus with fellow Class Officer Dan Myers and many others from a wide range of classes.  It was invigorating to be around so much Gustie spirit and I hope all of you get the opportunity to come back to campus in the near future and witness the Gustavus spirit and culture alive and thriving.

While on campus we heard President Jack Ohle talk and the word ENGAGEMENT was used quite a bit.  How do we as Gustavus Alum continued to be engaged with the mission of the college?  There are lots of things we can do!

  • Attending Gustavus Athletic Events (The football team won their opening game against Simpson College 28-21 and are 3-1 right now)
  • Young Alumni Networking Events
  • Monthly breakfasts at ASI and Gustavus campus
  • Gustavus Mentoring Program
  • Attending Music and Arts Events

I hope all of you have the chance to be more engaged with Gustavus this year!

Now the News!  There were a lot of informative and interesting things shared with us at our Class Officers Meeting.

2004 Class News

Check out the Gustavus Quarterly for regular updates.  FYI – the Quarterly doesn’t allow me to take any liberties with the birth and marriage announcements.  I know you are as sad about this as me.  I really enjoyed writing all of your birth and marriage announcements for the last Quarterly and surprised that they didn’t make the information in our class news.  You can find them under the “Births” and “Weddings” sections.  Oh well…Congratulations to everyone on their weddings, engagements, births, jobs and let’s face it we all deserve a congratulations for getting it done every day!  Pat yourself on the back and take some time for you!

10 Year Reunion and Class Officers
