Class of '76
Reunion dates ― October 6 & 7, 2006
Greetings fellow classmates from ’76,
Thirty years ago this month we graduated from Gustavus!
It’s mind-boggling to think of all the amazing stories that our class of 414 has acquired on “the journey.” Here are a couple of ways to mark this milestone, share the stories, and learn from your fellow travelers in 2006.
Join us for the ’76 class reunion the weekend of October 6-7. The reunion committee is planning a dinner party in Alumni Hall. A room block has been reserved at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center on Hwy 169 in North Mankato and shuttle service will be provided to campus. [Call some of your old buddies make reservations at (507) 625-9333.]
A special feature of our reunion this year will be reconnecting with faculty members. If we are 50-something…well our favorite faculty members are at least older. Don’t pass up the opportunity to express your appreciation and renew those connections. If there is a faculty or staff member who you would especially like to have join us for dinner Saturday evening please call Janna King at 612-925-2013 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Create a new tradition – Gusties Gather! Mark your calendars for Sunday, August Parties will be held all over the Twin Cities, Minnesota, the country, and the world the afternoon of Sunday, August 6. We will gather in homes, parks and churches. It’s an opportunity to meet Gusties – from fresh graduates to elders – who live in your neighborhood, community or region. To learn more about hosting or co-hosting for your area, please contact the Alumni Office.
This past year I, Janna King, have enjoyed serving on the Gustavus Alumni Board. It’s given me a chance to spend time on campus and think/learn about the College and its mission from a more “adult perspective.” I’ve savored some of those moments walking across campus in the different seasons. Like each of us―it has both changed and stayed the same over the years. Hope you can join us on campus for the ’76 Reunion to savor, reflect, and enjoy!
Remember the end of the Fiscal Year for the college is May 31. The Reunion Committee would like you to consider a special contribution toward our “30-year reunion class gift” to the college. The majority of the funds donated to the Alumni Fund provide scholarships for the next generation of Gusties! It’s easy to do online, just go to: http://gustavus.edu/giving/

Gusties around the world are called to gather on Sunday, August 6! The Alumni Board is designating this day as a way for Gusties to stay connected with each other. In research among alumni, we know that Gusties already stay in contact with many alumni, and we know that Gusties have a strong interest in staying connected with other Gusties and with the College. Ever think you want to do more to be connected with Gustavus? Now is your chance, sign up to host a Gusties Gather! event. Complete event checklist, host kit, and details will be provided.
