Meeting with Disability Services

Disability Services

Students may meet with Disability Services staff for the following reasons:

  • Following up on the effectiveness of academic accommodations
  • Academic Strategies
    • Studying, test taking, college-level expectations
  • Time Management
    • Using a calendar system to structure time
    • Methods of organization
  • Communicating with professors
    • Coaching and modeling conversations with professors regarding accommodations and individual learning needs
  • Self-Awareness
    • Helping students realize personal learning strengths and challenges
    • Determining if additional diagnostic testing or assessment is needed
  • Identifying and accessing other campus and community resources to aid in success, such as:
    • Career Development, Counseling Center, departmental tutors, Health Services, Professor’s office hours, and Writing Center
