Quarto vs. Folio editorial exercise
The response paper due Monday, October 27 asks that you take on
the task of being an editor. After having read the conflated version,
return to scene 1.1, and compare a pair of variant words across the quarto
and folio. Make an argument that justifies your decision to select one
word over the other.
On the following page, you will find a 'conflated' version of the lines
from the scene, with significant differences listed as a 'variant.' Click
on the 'variant' to see what the respective options are.
For example, the line we discussed at the end of class would look like:
