In Gas Phase

On Silicon Surface or Matrix

*Our mass spectroscopy system will analyze the positive ions through the concept of Time of Flight (TOF).

*TOF is the idea that the positive ions created through the interaction with the silicon surface, will be accelerated towards the detector by an initial electrical field.

*Once they traverse the initial field they will travel through a field free region.

The field free region is composed of electrical grids held at ground.

The positive ions moving through this field free region will separate according to their mass to charge ratios.

These ions then will reach the detector and will be picked up as signal by the oscilloscope through the use of a capacitor to decouple high voltage.
