Three Gusties have been named semifinalists for the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) program. Ben Dipple (Dell Rapids, S.D.), Travis Sigafoos (Coon Rapids, Minn.), and Joey Wiley (St. Paul, Minn.) are now being considered by the countries that they applied to teach in during the 2016-2017 academic year.
Jaime Hollis has been named the director of the Diversity Center at Gustavus Adolphus College and will begin in her new role on Monday, Feb. 1.
The $8 million complete renovation of A.H. Anderson Hall will begin this January. The building will house the Department of Education, Academic Support Center and Writing Center, and a new multifaith center beginning in February 2017.
Eric Salo ’88, a software engineer at Google, presented to current students on Saturday, Dec. 19 about careers in the technology industry. Amidst the hustle and bustle of final exams, students gathered to talk with Salo about opportunities at Google and his path since graduation.
Gustavus is the first college or university in Minnesota to be designated a Fair Trade College/University by Fair Trade Campaigns, a collection of fair trade organizations from across the globe. Gustavus is the 30th college/university in the United States to earn the designation.
