				<p> The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recently announced its Fall 2007 Academic All-Conference honorees. The MIAC recognized 304 student-athletes who represented the conference's thirteen institutions. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition.</p>

The Gustavus women's cross-country team looks to jump into the top three at the MIAC Championships after posting fourth place finishes for the past two years.

Senior Laura Edlund has emerged as this year's top runner replacing two-time MIAC champion and NCAA Central Region Runner of the Year Hailey Harren.</p>

				<p> On a beautiful day in La Crosse, Wisc., the Gustavus women's cross country team finished 11th with 295 points at the Tori Neubauer Invitational late Saturday morning.  The University of Minnesota finished in first place with 120 points having all top five runners in the top 40.  Laura Edlund (Forest Lake, Minn.) crossed the finish line first for the Golden Gusties in 16th-place with a time of 22:52.  Edlund has been the fastest Gustavus finisher in every race this season.</p>

				<p> Senior Laura Edlund (Forest Lake, Minn.) continues to run well as she won her first race of the season at the MSU-Mankato Open in Mankato Saturday in 15:25.  No team scores were kept as Gustavus, MSU-Mankato, and St. Cloud State were the only schools competing in the 4K race.  The Gusties had four runners place in the top seven.  Sarah Bernhardson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) turned in her best race of the season finishing third with a time of 15:44, and being the second Gustie to cross the finish line.</p>

Coach Jed Friedrich and the Golden Gusties are coming off a seventh place performance at the 42-team Roy Griak Invitational held in St. Paul last Saturday.  The Gusties appearance in the regional and national polls was aided by the fact the team finished higher than five schools ranked in the last week's Central Region poll.</p>
