			<p> Gustavus Adolphus College student athletes Margaret Dorer, Trevor Wittwer, and Connor Ziegler have been selected to receive postgraduate scholarships from the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Dorer (ice hockey), Wittwer (basketball), and Ziegler (swimming) are among a group of 58 student athletes that compete in a winter sport in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship.</p>

				<p> The Gustavus men's basketball team claimed a thrilling 71-70 overtime win against Carleton in a MIAC Playoff Semifinal game at Gus Young Court in St. Peter on Thursday night.  The Gusties rallied from six points down with :14 seconds left in regulation play to tie the score and send the game into overtime.  Two free throws by the Gusties Andrew Doble with 1:19 left in the overtime proved to be the difference as Gustavus extended its season by claiming the 71-70 post-season victory.</p>

The announcement was made by the Salem, Virginia Rotary Club which presents the prestigious awards each year.  Ten finalists are selected for both the men and the women and the winner is announced at the NCAA Division  III Men's Basketball Final Four in Salem, Virginia on Thursday, March 20.</p>

The victory assured the Gusties of a second place league finish with one game remaining in the regular season.  Coach Mark Hanson's squad is now 18-6 overall and 14-5 in the conference play.</p>

The Gusties who trailed 35-25 at halftime, limited the Cobbers to 15 points in the second half.  Kane Sivesind and Jesse Van Sickle each scored 10 points to lead Gustavus.</p>

The Gusties needed a win to pull even with the Tommies atop the MIAC standings, however with the loss, Gustavus is now two-and-a-half games back with four games left to play.  Andrew Doble led the Gusties with 23 points.</p>
