Permanent? Senior Show 2008 will be on view at the Hillstrom Museum of Art. The exhibition will highlight the student careers of 12 studio art majors of Gustavus Adolphus College and demonstrates the diversity of styles and approaches taken by the artists, some of whom intend to continue studying or working in art after graduation.
On display are works by:
Danny Blacker (Apple Valley),
Stephanie Buresh (Jordan),
Erin Dinsmore (Hammond, Wisc.),
David Goldstein (Plymouth),
Whit Hohman (Roseville),
Natalie Larson (White Bear Lake),
Kasey Lyng (Eden Prairie),
Shawna Mullen (Cambridge),
Zach Newman (Minneapolis),
Kelsey Plucker (Welch),
Nathan Schram (Detroit Lakes),
and Song Thao (St. Paul).

Each artist is represented by her or his artwork and also by a personal statement reflecting the student's artistic goals and aesthetic philosophy. The exhibition was selected from a group of submissions by each artist, and the jurying process was carried out by the art faculty of the College. The installation of the exhibit was executed with assistance from the students, and a number of the works on view are being offered for sale.

A contemporary classic of cutting edge theatre, the witty and fascinating Fefu engages audiences in unexpected (and fun) ways. Set in the 1930s, the evening opens with eight friends, all fascinating women, who have gathered in Fefu's home to plan an educational event. The action soon divides into separate scenes exploring the women's relationships with one another and to the society around them. As spectators, you will be invited to move among several different spaces around the theatre, where you will have intimate access to the frivolity, anguish, mystery and complexity of the women's lives. When the guests regroup at the end of the play, you will realize that the spectators have engaged with the story from different perspectives—responding with different emotions for a truly unique theatrical experience.

Father Elias Chacour, Archbishop of the Melkite (ancient Christian) Church in Israel, will be available for conversation, questions and answers following his message during daily Chapel. Speaking from first-hand knowledge of the details behind the Arab Israeli conflict, Chacour brings the faithful message of a Palestinian Christian working for peace in Israel.

He is increasingly invited by many church and non-government organizations working for peace to speak about efforts to encourage peaceful co-existence between diverse cultural and religious groups in the Holy Land. Father Chacour is recognized as an international voice for building peace among the children of Abraham: Christians, Jews and Muslims.

These photographs and accompanying stories introduce the people that the Peace Corps volunteers have met during their service.
The nineteen photographs which make up this exhibition were organized by returned Minnesota Peace Corps volunteers and were taken by Peace Corps volunteers
with Minnesota connections. They show how volunteers work to achieve the mission of Peace Corps, which is to promote peace and friendship one relationship at a time.

See the traveling exhibit before it leaves campus June 1. This exhibition was curated by Dan MacLaughlin and sponsored by Utrecht Art Supplies, Pro Color, and Minnesota Returned Peace Corps Volunteers.

Are you considering a Philosophy Major? Do you have a question about which classes to take? Do you like to drink tea? Does nobody understand you?

Come hang out, ask questions, and discuss things of importance with other philosophy students every Wednesday for the rest of the semester. Come when you can and leave when you want.

Also, tutors will be available if you would like to talk through a reading or a paper with a senior major. We promise that we are really nice and not scary.

Prepare is a multi-denominational fellowship group where students can ask questions and explore their faith. The focus of this campus ministry is to strengthen this generation's relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. David Olson, a pastor, shares a message from Scripture and then we have time for worship through music. Students hang out afterwards for food, prayer, and fellowship.
