- To reach a Gustavus number, dial only the last four digits. Gustavus prefix is 933.
- St. Peter and Mankato numbers: Dial 9 + seven-digit telephone number.
For example, dial 9 + 934-7420 to reach the St. Peter Public Library. Toll free calls: dial 9 + 1 + toll-free prefix + number.
- 900 and 500 numbers cannot be placed from campus telephones.
- There are no charges for local or toll -free calls.

Long Distance Calls
Long distance direct dial calls may be placed from a student phone by using an Authorization Code. Office phones do not require an Authorization Code.
To place a long distance call:
- Dial 9 + 1 + area code + number.
- Wait for confirmation tone.
- Enter Authorization Code - students only.
To place an international call:
- Dial 9 + 011 + country code + city code + number.
- Press the pound (#) key.
- Wait for confirmation tone.
- Enter Authorization Code - students only.
To place a call with a calling card:
- Dial 9 + 0 + area code + number.
- Wait for "Bong tone".
- Enter calling card number.
The most economical way for a student to call is to use a Gustavus authorization code number and dial direct.
