Return to Housing Selection main page
Important General Information, Read Carefully
Read all information in this website thoroughly regarding the Housing Selection Process. A web-based system will be in used again this year.
- The computer program assigns Priority numbers based on your Adjusted Year in Residence. Please visit the "Housing Priority Number Explained" page for a more complete explanation of how your Priority number works.
- Discuss roomming with friends. Be sure to find the best roommate match: do NOT select your roommate based upon best average priority number you can create. Press here for Link to Things to Think About in Selecting a Roommate page.
- Decide upon which type of unit in which you would like to live. Be sure to decide upon 12 specific units you would like to live in as the web-based system asks you to enter up to 12 specific units. Then, also decide upon second, third, fourth, or fifth choices in terms of buildings. Press here for Link to Buildings page to view floor plans for each building.
- Important: Current off-campus students who desire to live on campus must designate thier wishes throught the On-line Housing Selection Contract. Once that request has been received, the student will NOT be allowed to apply to live off-campus again. S/He must live on campus.
- REMEMBER: Once a group (comprised of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 students) has selected a unit through the housing process, that group must continue to operate as one unit. If a member leaves the group for any reason OTHER THAN becoming a CF or studying abroad, the remaining group members will be reassigned to other accommodations and the unit given to the next group through the wait list process.
Housing Selection Web-based Process
Step by step instructions
- Step One: The Online Housing Contract and Preference form will be available the first day of Spring semester.
- Step Two: Complete the Housing Contract and Preference Form. You MUST submit it by February 18 to participate in the Housing Selection Process. Failure to complete and submit a completed form will bar you from participating.
- Step Three: Go to the "Housing Profile" page to double check the information that DATATEL has for you. If you believe it is incorrect, please come to the Residential Life Office during walk-in hours to discuss this with Troy or Charlie. It is your responsiblity to validate your "Housing Profile " and come to Residential Life if you believe there are errors.
- Step Four: Go to the Important Dates Page. This page identifies the RANGE OF DAYS to apply for specific types of housing.
- Step Five: During the RANGE OF DAYS - remember, this is not a first-come, first served based process - one member of your group must go the website to enter your group's preferences. Failure to enter your group's preferemces during the designated RANGE OF DAYS will result in you NOT participating in that particular process. No extensions will be given. The screens explain the process steps. You will need the following information to complete the process:
- Your Web-advisor user name and password.
- ID numbers for each member of your group.
- Listing of individual units in which you would like to live. You are asked to rank order 12 of these.
- Listing of buildings in which you would prefer to live in the event you do not receive any of your individual units.
- Step Six: 5-7 days after the closing of the web-site following the RANGE OF DAYS each group member will receive an e-mail indicating the room to which you were assigned.
