Welcome to the Housing Selection Process information web-site. Please be certain to read through all the information carefully. This page contains announcements, changes, and reminders as well as access points to a variety of information pages.
In an effort to make the Housing Selection process even more convienent for our students the Housing Contract for 2008-2009 will be available online mid-January. You will be able to access the contract through WebAdvisor. Every student, including those who are currently residing off-campus and wish to retain this permission, must complete the Housing Contract in order to particpate in the Online Housing Selection Process.
The "flexible" units in Uhler Hall have been redisignated as triples (only three students) and quads (only four students). As these spaces are larger than typical rooms, a surcharge will still apply.
Please take the time to carefully read through the information about the selection process in general and each specific selection period. Here are the important dates for the Housing Selection process.
The second, third and fourth floors of Gibbs Hall will join Prairie View as upperclass substance free spaces and home of the PLEDGE program.
Students can see their priority numbers, as well as verify other information the College has on file (gender, year in residence, etc), by viewing their individual Housing Profile. See VERIFY MY INFORMATION. Also rember that Housing Priority Numbers are based upon your Year in Residence, not your Year in Credit (Academic Year based on your credits). For more information about priority numbers please See "Priority Numbers Explained".
For example, a current first-year student, whose number could be between 1000 and 1750, would have their number reduced to 999. If a students has more than one of these violations, the priority number will be reduced an additional 500 points per violation. The reduction in Housing Priority number only applies to students who have been found responsible for a relatively severe violation of the College alcohol policies. See "Priority Numbers Explained" for further information.
HOWEVER, if a student currently with off-campus permission elects to go through the housing selection process, s/he may NOT re-apply to reside off-campus. By electing to go through the process, this student is forfeiting both the automatic renewal of off-campus permission AND the ability to re-apply for off-campus housing for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Residential Life will create clusters of two and three double rooms in North, Gibbs, Sorensen, Uhler, and Rundstrom Halls. Groups of four or six students will then be able to rank-order their perfered "room clusters." If students do not receive a "cluster" during this process, they will then need to participate in the two-person unit housing selection process May 2-6.
