Steve Carroll is entering his tenth season as an assistant coach with the Gusties. His responsibilities include helping recruit student-athletes and developing Gustavus goalies. Carroll has 25 years of goalie coaching experience and is regarded as one of the top goalie instructors in the Midwest. He has his own goalie school and each year coaches hundreds of boys and girls of all skill levels.
Carroll was a two-time All-America goalie for Minnesota State University, Mankato and led the Mavericks to the 1980 NCAA Division II National Championship, where he was named the tournament's MVP. He was a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the best player in men's college hockey. Carroll was also named MSU's Male Athlete of the Century and has been inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.
