Matt Thomas ’00

Marketing and Communication

Matt joined Gustavus in March of 2007 and currently serves as Media Relations Manager in the Office of Marketing and Communication. Matt writes press releases for the college, updates news content on the college's website, and pitches stories to the local, regional, and national media.

Born in 1978 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Matt graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1996 before attending Gustavus. Following his graduation from Gustavus he spent seven years working as a journalist in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area. His employers included VarsityOnline.com in Hopkins, Lillie Suburban Newspapers in North St. Paul, The Lakeshore Weekly News in Minnetonka, and Courthouse News Service. Matt also spent three years managing the online auction business at the home shopping network, ShopNBC in Eden Prairie.

Matt is married to Molly Pedersen Thomas '00. They live in Shakopee and have a two year old son named Luke.
