Church Relations

Marilyn Beyer serves as Assistant Director of Church Relations at Gustavus Adolphus College. In the Office of Church Relations since August 2004, she manages the implementation of the outreach programs and resources for member congregations of the Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations (GACAC). She assists with the work and planning of the GACAC, a governing body of the College, its Board of Directors, and its annual convention in April.

Providing day-to-day office management, she also collaborates with constituents on and off campus to contribute to the development of positive, productive relationships and programming between the Office of Church Relations and others. She manages event planning, office communications, and coordination of youth and adult retreats on campus. She serves as advisor for Gustavus Youth Outreach (GYO), a student-led ministry dedicated to sharing the gospel with Christian youth. Marilyn also represents the College at Synod assemblies and other church-related events.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Marilyn holds a B.A. from South Dakota State University at Brookings. After teaching adult education for three years, she worked in writing and copyediting for several more years. Prior to coming to work in the Office of Church Relations, she worked at Scholarship America in St. Peter. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran in St. Peter.

Marilyn lives in St. Peter with her husband, Kirk. They are the parents of four Gusties: Joel '01; Jeffrey '04; Lindsey '06; and Max '12.
