B.S. University of Iowa; M.S. Minnesota State University, Mankato
I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up there. I lived in Iowa City, Iowa during my college years and for 10 years following my graduation from the University of Iowa. During that time I worked at Goodwill Industries as a contract supervisor, University Hospital Schools as a special education teacher for students with severe/moderate mental retardation and physical disabilities, and Jackson Elementary School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a special education teacher. I have been in special education all of my adult life. I then moved to Forest City, Iowa for 3 years and lived in Toledo, Ohio for ten years after that. During those years I raised my 3 children, Keith, Todd and Miranda and worked as a reading tutor and substitute school teacher. I then moved to North Mankato, MN and went back to school to get my masters degree in Learning Disabilities. I also continued to raise my children and substituted for District 77 in addition to working as a Graduate Assistant at MSU,M. Upon graduation I applied for a job at Gustavus Adolphus College and began work as the Disability Services Coordinator in the fall of 2003. I am in my sixth year and enjoy the job, students and co-workers immensely.
