For most of my professional life I have been a public school teacher. I began my career teaching Spanish at St. Peter High School. Later, I taught in the elementary grades, and also served as Curriculum Coordinator for the local school district. I am currently on an extended leave from St. Peter Schools to serve as an instructor in the Gustavus Education Department. I teach the elementary methods courses in Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies, co-teach Elementary Interdisciplinary Methods, and supervise student teacher. While at Gustavus, I have also taught Children's Literature and Adolescent Literature.
