Jane Lalim ’95Alumni and Staff

Associate Director in Academic Support Center

Jane Lalim began working in the Academic Support Center at Gustavus Adolphus College in 2000 when it was known as the Advising Center and was co-located with the Counseling Center in the O.J. Johnson Student Union. Though much has changed over the years, Jane still enjoys educating students about effective study strategies and how to create their four-year major/minor plans.  Please stop in to see her in Anderson Hall 107, email questions to asc@gustavus.edu, call to connect at (507) 933-7227, or schedule an appointment on our website.

Supporting students on academic warning or probation status and partnering with faculty and Student Life administrators around students who may be struggling academically are particular areas of focus for Jane.  Outreach from Jane to support students because of flags raised in Starfish occurs nearly daily when classes are in session. She is the official academic advisor for a few students who are undecided about their majors. Jane has maintained her annual membership with the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) since 1998.

Personally, Jane enjoys travel with her husband, Tom, at every available opportunity to both foreign and domestic locals.  Jane's other hobbies include kayaking, spending time at the lake, and watching movies or attending theatre, music, or sporting events.  Their yellow lab named Sage keeps Jane and Tom very busy.
