Teacher Evaluation, International Baccalaureate, and Schooling and Equity
Deb has been involved in education for 27 years. She began her career in the state of Wyoming working as a teacher in a multi-aged, public primary school. After serving 10 years in the classroom setting and gaining a master of science degree in Elementary Education/Language Arts, she joined the Education Department at Gustavus from 1990 - 1997. She received a Specialist Degree in Administration and Educational Leadership and returned to the K - 12 public system for another 10 years as an administrator. She has taught graduate courses in the areas of Differentiation in the Elementary Classroom and Institutional Racism/Equity, and she consults school districts in the areas of teacher evaluation and school equity. She has most recently become a Minnesota Quality Award (Baldrige) Evaluator and coordinated International Baccalaureate programming. Deb is thrilled to return to the Gustavus community to work with undergraduates and program development in the Education Department.
