Welcome to the Student Athletic Advisory Board homepage. On this page, you will be able to access information about what Student Athletic Advisory Board is and what this new site has to offer. This includes information on nutrition, ways to improve your athletic performance, and the new Gustavus drug testing policy going into effect fall of 2006.
Student Athletic Advisory Board, also known as SAAB, consists of student-athletes. Each sport is represented by at least two teams members. We meet every other week. Our mission is described below:
The Gustavus Adolphus College Student Athlete Advisory Board is a means of communication between student athletes and the athletic department staff. We work to increase campus awareness of and participation in intercollegiate athletics, and develop relationships and support systems between athletes from different Gustavus varsity teams. We sponsor and organize community service activities. We increase community awareness and support of intercollegiate athletics in the Gustavus and St. Peter communities. We also seek to increase awareness and support from Gustavus Adolphus College athletic alumni. The Student Athlete Advisory Board is a means of soliciting student-athlete response to Gustavus, MIAC, and NCAA proposed legislation, and we are a means of suggesting legislation to such governing bodies. The Gustavus Adolphus College Student Athlete Advisory Board provides opportunities to increase athletes' growth and improve athletes' overall college experience.
During the 2004-2005 school year, SAAB came up with the idea of CODE RED competition. Each team picks a CODE RED competition date within their season where they would like to have the most support. By having other teams come to support them in their biggest competition of the season, it shows support throughout all student-athletes.
Stay organized and manage your time in order to minimize your stress.
