    Committees

    I. Community Service
The community service committee was recently formed in Lambda Alpha Nu because we believe service should be a part of every organization. Members of the group are involved in volunteer activities to help out where needed and to raise awareness about our group to other members of the Gustavus and St. Peter community.

      II. Company Tours
The touring committee assumes the responsibility of finding opportunities where the fraternity can visit local businesses. This is a great opportunity for current members to explore the "real world" setting that we will someday work in and also learn more about a specific industry or job. Ideally, the touring committee should plan at least one visit per semester.

      III. Banquet
The banquet committee plans the two banquets that are held every semester. The banquets traditionally have two speakers that address the audience on business related topics. All economic professors are invited to the banquet so it is a good opportunity to get to know your professor for who they really are. This committee is also looking into the possibility of having a more informal banquet where we would travel to a hotel for a weekend, possible this spring.

      IV. Social Events
The Social Committee consists of <to be determined>. We have been charged with maintaining social togetherness and helping to create a bond between the members of the fraternity.

      V. Alumni
Responsible for maintaining contact with previous LAN members. Possible direction for this committee is developing an alumni newsletter. It is essential for this committee to maintain up-to-date records of LAN alumni. This may include address, telephone, e-mail, and current job. The alumni of LAN are a valuable source for current and future members of the organization to learn more about certain industries or specific jobs. They may also be a source for guest speakers at our banquets.

      VI. Web Development
The Web Development team consists of Lance Hendrickson. This committee is primarily responsible for maintaining the LAN web site. He has recently reconstructed the existing web site to the one that you see now. The web committee needs to keep the site up-to-date with current member listings, pictures, amendments, and news. The web site is an essential source of information for current and prospective fraternity members and must be maintained.
