Gustavus Youth Outreach † Request a Team

Please use the following form to request a team from GYO to help lead a youth event in your church. Here are a few suggestions and answers to common questions:

The activities that GYO will do depend upon the team. The team leader will work with you to plan the event.
Please be as specific as possible, so we can match your interests with a team.
Because we are student volunteers, it is impossible for us to schedule many months in advance. If you can be flexible with dates, or have two choices, it is more likely that the bookings coordinator can match a team to your request.

In order for us to do our job, we request some help from you. Please read the following expectations for your church:

Please provide one chaperone for every eight youth. We also ask that chaperones stay the duration of the evening and be present for all activities, as well as take care of disciplinary matters. Please make the rules known before the GYO team arrives.
Please provide a quiet place for one or more team members to get a few hours of sleep—remember, we have to drive home in the morning!
We are an organization running completely on a volunteer basis. In return, we ask churches to donate $0.40 per mile towards our transportation costs.

Please describe the group dynamics and what the GYO team should be prepared for. Do the youth enjoy singing, games, or other activities? Are they active participants in discussions or more quiet?
