Diabetes Training Camp Youth Workshop, Lund Center, Gustavus Adolphus College. Diabetic adolescents and teens as well as parents are encouraged to attend. FREE camp run by the nationally acclaimed Diabetes Training Camp under the guidance of Matt Corcoran, MD, CDE, and Michelle Adams, Exercise Physiologist and national speaker on diabetes.

8:00 AM- Diabetes Training Camp Introductions, Opening Session, and Fun Quiz- parents and youth

9:00 AM Session #1

Youth: Cardio Intervals/Card Game with Michelle Adams, RN/CDE

Parents: The Importance of Exercise and Physical Fitness in Diabetes- Corcoran

10:00 AM Break

10:15 AM Session #2

Youth: The AB Lab with Michelle Adams, RN/CDE

Parents: Strategies for Diabetes and Exercise- the Fundamentals- Corcoran

11:00 AM Session #3

Youth: Resistance Training and Strength Training with Bands RN/CDE

Parents: Sports Nutrition and Diabetes Management- RD/CDE

Noon Lunch- All Together; guest athlete with diabetes to speak

1:00 PM Session #4

Youth: Fitness Challenge with Michelle

Parents: Negotiating with your Teenager

2:00 PM Break

2:15 PM Session #5 Everyone

Taking it Back Home- Discussion/Educational- Corcoran, Adams, RN/CDE, RD/CDE

Youth- “Ask the Doc” with Dr. Corcoran
