GAC TV is not just a student organization or a hobby, or a pastime but
an idea that hopes to spawn several others in its time.
GAC TV is set up with the objective and aspiration of meeting several
needs of the Gustavus community be it in promoting and acting as
a conduit for intellectual debate, entertainment, ‘hands on’
work in the fields of media and journalism and to promote various
groups, organizations, departments and events across campus.
GAC TV hopes to establish collaborations and partnerships with various
and varied branches on campus to strengthen and endure our common
goals, yet at the same time preserve our unique and complex identity.
GAC TV remains open to the campus community, in the fields of content,
membership and participation. It is a forum one and all can utilize
for the expression of creative thought and purpose, with due respect
for the campus culture.
GAC TV aims to start its operations with a twenty minute weekly news
broadcast of events off and on campus and aspire to diversify into
various other programming. The field is endless and our aspiration
infinite.
GAC TV will be run on democratic guidelines - any major decision will require a simple majority to pass. Three office bearer positions may be held by its members namely – President, Secretary and Treasurer, and may be held for a period not exceeding a period of one academic year. Re-election may of course be available. These positions are basically functionary and out of official necessity.
We play our short news show before about 15 minutes before the start of weekend films.
Several of our episodes are available online via the videos page.
We are always on the lookout for more reporters and editors. If you would like to participate in GAC TV, e-mail gactvinfo@gac.edu.
