Gustavus first year forward Allie Schwab of Stillwater, Minn. has been named Co-MIAC Player of the Week with Lauren Bradel of St. Thomas.

Schwab scored two unassisted goals to help the Gusties defeat St. Olaf 5-0 in a MIAC Playoff semifinal game on Saturday in St. Peter. Schwab’s first goal at 19:02 of the first period gave Gustavus a 2-0 lead. She stole the puck in the St. Olaf zone, beat one defender and then snapped a wrist shot into the upper left corner from a sharp angle at the bottom of the left face-off circle. Schwab’s second goal at 17:03 of the second period was again due to outstanding individual effort as she beat a defender at the blue line and then beat the goaltender with a wrist shot into the upper left corner. The goal gave the Gusties a 3-0 lead. Schwab leads the team in goals scored with 14. Gustavus, which is now 21-1-4 on the season, will face St. Thomas on Wednesday in St. Peter in the MIAC Playoff Championship game.
