First-year goaltender Danielle Justice mades 17 saves in a win over #1 Amherst.

Gustavus Adolphus College first-year goaltender Danielle Justice (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 5, 2008. Justice recorded 17 saves and did not allow a goal to help the Gusties defeat #1 ranked Amherst 3-0 on Friday in St. Peter, Minn.

Justice made 11 of her 17 saves in the first period including stops on a 2-0 breakaway and a 1-0 breakaway. She made one more breakaway stop in the second period and another breakaway stop in the third period. Justice’s performance in the first period kept the Gusties in the game and then she shut the door in the second and third period as her teammates scored three times. Justice is 3-1-1 on the season with two shutouts and a 0.78 goals against average.

The Gusties, who are ranked second in the current USCHO.com Division III poll, are now 7-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the MIAC.

Fringe Festival Features Gustavus Theatre and Dance

Since its founding, the Minnesota Fringe Festival has featured the work of hundreds of Gustavus Theatre & Dance students, alumni and faculty. This year is no exception, with a number of performances by alumni and current students across the 11-day festival.
