Gustavus men’s tennis players Andy Bryan (Sr., Edina, Minn.) and Charlie Paukert (Jr., Grand Forks, No. Dak.) finished second in the NCAA Doubles Championship on Sunday afternoon in Lewiston, Maine. The Gusties, who were unseeded in the tournament, lost to Guillaume Schils and Larry Wang of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 3-6, 4-6 in the championship match late Sunday afternoon.

Bryan and Paukert advanced to the championship match with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Ben Stein and Amrit Rupasinghe of host Bates College in a semifinal match on Sunday afternoon.

Bryan and Paukert, who earn All-America honors by virtue of finishing second at the NCAA Championships, finished the season with a record of 31-9 overall and 25-7 against Division III opponents.
