Women’s Golf In First Place After First Day Of Minnesota Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team shot a first day team total of 308 at the Minnesota Championships at the par-72 Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, Minn. on Saturday. The third-ranked Gusties finished 17 strokes ahead of second-ranked St. Thomas, which finished with a team total of 325. Katie Schenfeld (Fy., Indianola, Iowa) paced Gustavus with a score of 74 to tie for the individual lead heading into the last day of play on Sunday.

Kali Griggs (So., Burnsville, Minn.) completed the first round of competition with a score of 76, while Rachel Roberg (Sr., Rice Lake, Wis.) also scored below 80 with a round of 78. Kimbra Kosak (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) posted a score of 80, as Amanda Johnson (So., Bemidji, Minn.) contributed a score of 82. Individually, Sarah Tracy (Sr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) shot an 89, followed by Lauren Runsvold (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) posted a score of 91, and Kerri Groff (Fy., Bloomington, Minn.) shot a 98.

Dr. Timothy Robinson, Professor of Psychology at Gustavus Adolphus College, is stepping down as Director of the Nobel Conference at the conclusion of this year’s conference on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Robinson will be replaced by Charles Niederriter, Professor of Physics at the College.
