Emily Johnson Clarinet Recital Sunday at Gustavus

The Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Music will present Emily C. Johnson in her junior clarinet recital Sunday, March 16 in Jussi Bjorling Recital Hall. Accompanied by pianist Bonnie Jorgensen, Ms. Johnson will present works by Lutoslawski, Caravan and Robert Schumann in recital beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Emily Johnson is a music and religion major from Portland, Oregon, and a student of Richard Weber. She will open her junior recital with Dance Preludes by Witold Lutoslawski, followed by Excursions by Ronald Caravan. Her recital program concludes with Fantasy Pieces for Clarinet and Piano by Robert Schumann.

Sunday’s recital by Emily Johnson is free and open to the public.

Members of the nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team will perform publicly on Thursday, May 15 at this year’s Speech Showcase. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Café, located on the lower level of the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center.

 Online Registration Available for 2008 Nobel Conference

Registration is now available online for Gustavus Adolphus College’s 44th annual Nobel Conference. This year’s conference, titled “Who Were the First Humans?” is scheduled for Oct. 7-8.
